From Chemistry to Creativity – My Journey into Enamel Art

Hi, I’m Pearly — an enamel artist, glass artist, creator, and innovator, with a deep love for color and a background in science and engineering.

I’ve always been drawn to color. Throughout my life, I created with clay, ceramics, decorative soaps, and polymer — anything that let me express myself through vibrant materials. But for over 15 years, I worked in Israel’s high-tech industry as both a chemical engineer specializing in biotechnology and later as a software engineer. I even lived and worked in Basel, Switzerland, as part of a medical team at Novartis.

Even while solving technical challenges during the day, I always found time to create — crafting for the soul. After becoming a mother of three, I felt a strong pull back to my creative roots and a desire to share the joy of life and art with other women and makers.

Twenty years ago, I discovered lampwork — the art of working with molten glass in a flame — and it completely changed my world. Since then, I’ve been working full time as a glass artist, exploring color, form, and fire in countless ways.

Then, about seven years ago, I fell in love with enameling — fusing powdered glass to metal using heat. It added a whole new dimension to my creative process and allowed me to combine precision, chemistry, and art in beautiful ways.

But when I started enameling, I found it hard to know what to buy, which tools to use, and how to get the results I wanted. There was no clear guide, and many tools simply didn’t exist. Because I personally struggled at the beginning, I decided to create the shop I wish I had — a one-stop home for everything enamel artists need.

That’s how Pearly Supply was born: a place where I combine scientific precision with artistic expression, helping artists around the world create with ease, confidence, and joy.

As I developed my own enameling practice, I realized I was constantly missing the tools I needed — so I started making them myself.
I’ve designed and developed many of the tools now used by enamel artists around the world, including my rotating enameling station, various types of trivets and firing stands, comfortable sifters, stencil collections, metallic paints, and much more. Each one was born out of a real need in my studio, then tested, refined, and shared.

At Pearly Supply, you’ll find:

* The largest variety of copper shapes in the world – over 600 different designs to simplify your process and help you get stunning results

* A huge selection of vibrant enamel powders, carefully curated for beautiful effects

* Rotating workstations, custom trivets and stands, ergonomic sifters, exclusive stencils, metallic color paints, glow powders, decals, and more

* Many tools that don’t exist anywhere else — designed by me to save you time and elevate your art

I also offer online enameling courses that guide you step-by-step — perfect for both beginners and experienced artists looking to deepen their skills.

And the best part? I’m here to help. If you’re ever unsure what to get or how to use something — just reach out. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned.

Pearly Supply isn’t just a shop — it’s a creative home. Let my tools, knowledge, and experience bring you the joy of color, creativity, and beautiful results.

Happy creating!
With love,
Pearly
